Dr. Michael Cummings

Dr. Michael Cummings joined our hospital in 2008. He attended the University of Georgia, college of veterinary medicine, and received his DVM in 1999. In his spare time, Dr. Cummings likes to garden, play darts with friends, scuba dive, and attend concerts. A fun fact about Dr. Cummings is that he is from Liverpool, England!

Dr. Marni Cohen

Dr. Marni Cohen-Horowitz grew up in Marlboro, NJ. She always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1997. She got her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in January 2001, where she spent her last year of clinical rotations at Oklahoma State University. She joined the staff at Route 516 Animal Hospital in April 2005. One of her greatest joys has been treating her patients from puppyhood and kittenhood and watching them grow alongside their families. Since she’s been at Route 516 Animal Hospital for over 20 years, she has cared for many generations of pets.

Dr. Cohen-Horowitz has a son Jace, and a daughter Madison. She has 2 dogs. Her dog Starla was rescued from the SATO project in Puerto Rico. She also has a Cavachon that she rescued named S’mores, who loves to come to work with her and hang out in the office while she works. She enjoys spending time with her kids and taking them to fun places, especially the beach and the boardwalk. At the boardwalk, you can find her winning stuffed animals from the hook machines, which has become a bit of an obsession! She is also a huge University of Florida Gator Fanatic. She enjoys being silly with her kids and also loves spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Karen Radano

Dr. Radano joined our hospital in October of 2016. She earned her DVM degree from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a husband, two children and a dog named Murphy, who all love to keep her busy! In her free time, Dr. Radano enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and doing outdoor activities. A fun fact about Dr. Radano is that she rescued her previous dog Mason from a prison program and he was the best!

Raelynn, Practice Manager

Raelynn joined our hospital in April of 2013 as a part time CSR. After only a few short months, she knew this was the career she wanted to have and eventually came on as a full-time employee. Since then, she has worked her way up to becoming a Practice manager as of November 2021, which is one of her biggest accomplishments. In her spare time, Raelynn loves to spend time with her husband Ryan and her two cats, go to the beach, watch movies, spend time with friends and read. A fun fact about Raelynn is that she loves to decorate for the holidays and can’t resist buying more decorations every year!

Katie, Practice Manager

Katie joined our hospital in January 2008 as a CSR. Throughout her career here, she has continuously grown into many different leadership roles until finally becoming a practice manager in November of 2021. In her spare time Katie loves to do her favorite role of all, being a mom and spending time with her three children Parker, Maggie, Ellie, her Husband Scott and her two cats. She also loves to cook, garden, spend time with friends and jam out to some good 90’s hip hop in her mom van! A fun fact about Katie is that she was a baby model which led her to be a guest on the Merv Griffin show.

Melissa, Veterinary Technician

Melissa joined the hospital in May of 2016 but has been in the industry since 2001. She has always loved animals and it shows how she cares for them. Her goal is to one day move to Florida and soak up the sunshine with her family and her 2 dogs. In her spare time, Melissa loves to travel and can often be found planning her next trip somewhere fun. A fun fact about Melissa is that aside from dogs and cats she has a love for horses and goes horseback riding whenever she can!

Melisa, Veterinary Technician

Melisa joined our hospital in October of 2016. She is a true animal lover at heart and has been working in this field since 2000! In her spare time Melisa loves going to beach and spending time with her family and her dog Comet. A fun fact about Melisa is that she likes to bake and always tries to be creative with her decorating!

Megan, Veterinary Technician

Megan joined our hospital in August of 2024 but has been in the field since 2020. Prior to joining vet med, Megan worked as an animal control officer where she was exposed to all types of animals in need of rescue. In turn, her work fostered her love of helping animals and made her want to take it a step further. Megan went on to complete the vet tech program at Bergen community college and since then has worked hard to hone her skill set and she prides herself in her technique. In her spare time, you can be sure to find Megan enjoying various outside activities, or crafting. A fun fact about Megan is that she is the best wedding guest and has attended 32 weddings!

Garrett, Veterinary Assistant

Garrett joined our hospital in October of 2025. Prior to joining us Garrett worked with exotic animals and reptiles! In true animal lover fashion, Garrett aspires to make the world a better place for animals and humans. He is currently working through the Penn Foster program to grow his knowledge and be able to help animals even more. In his spare time Garrett loves to play soccer and take hikes with his dogs. A fun fact about Garrett is that he is just a fun goofy guy who loves to play with reptiles!

Jeanine, Veterinary Assistant

Jeanine joined our hospital in October of 2025 but has been in the field for many years. She has a love for teaching and helping her teammates develop their skill set using the knowledge she has gained throughout the years. In addition to helping animals at the hospital, Jeanine runs a rescue organization called CASA Coalition of Advocates for Shelter Animals. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her family, both furry and human and working hard to find her foster kitties their Fur-ever homes. A fun fact about Jeanine is that on top of all she does already, she is also a fitness instructor and teaches Zumba and yoga classes!

Janine, Client Service Representative

Janine joined our hospital in July of 2009. Within that amazing length of time, she has also accomplished getting her teaching degree from Rutgers University and now has been teaching 4th grade for ten years! In her spare time, Janine loves to snuggle with her two cats, Poppy and Liam, and her two dogs, Otis and Winston. She also enjoys going plant shopping and working out. A fun fact about Janine is that she is married to her high school sweetheart Dan!

Ashtyn, Client Service Representative

Ashtyn joined our hospital in February of 2024. She takes pride in her role and loves to help ensure our clients and their furry family members are receiving the best care. Eventually, Ashtyn would like to take things a step further and advance into a tech role. In her spare time Ashtyn likes to play video games and has a love for music. A fun fact about Ashtyn is that she likes to crochet!

Julie, Client Service Representative

Julie joined our hospital in April of 2026. She has been in the field since 2021 previously working at a hospital in Upstate NY prior to relocating to NJ. Julie enjoys being a CSR and hopes to one day move into a leadership role. In her spare time Julie loves to go hiking, ride horses and can often be found following her boyfriend and his two bands around to local Jersey spots. A fun fact about Julie is that she is a barrel racer and has qualified for the NBHA championships 3 times!
